Craig Thomas was born itf Cardiff in 1942, and educated at Cardiff High School and University College, Cardiff, where he was awarded his MA in 1967. His first növel, Rat Trap, and his first bestseller, Firefox, were both published while he was still a schoolmaster. The success of Firefox on both sides of the Atlantic enabled him to become a professional novelist. Since 1977, he has published eight other novels (two under the pseuydonym Dávid Grant), many of which have become bestsellers. A film of Firefox, starring Clint Eastwood, appeared in 1981. His sales now exceed nine millión copies world wide. Craig Thomas' other novels include Wolfsbane, Snow Falcon, Emerald Decision and Moscow 5000 (as Dávid Grant), Sea Leopárd, Jade Tiger, Firefox Down and most recently The Bear's Tears. Craig Thomas is married and lives with his wife and ageing tortoiseshell cat near Lichfield in Staffordshire. His pastimes include gardening, watching cricket, listening to music and reading.
