Semmelweis University, the only university in Hungary dedicated solely to health science studies from undergraduate to professional level, is one of the most important education centres and at the same time the largest health-care institution. Semmelweis University has evolved as a consequence of the integration process by 2000 from the merging of three „old", prestigious Universities (Haynal Imre University of Health Sciences, Hungarian University of Physical Education and Semmelweis University of Medicine) taking advantage of their profound knowledge and experience in various branches of health sciences.
