Bővebb ismertető
1 Working alone, study the picture opposite for not more than one minute. Then close your eyes, and try to recall the face as exactly as possible. Now, open your eyes and look at the portrait again. Note down your ideas about the following:
- the young man's age.
- the language he is speaking (his own, or a foreign language); his manner of speaking (hesitant, fiery, calm, etc.).
- his mood or emotion at this moment.
2 Compare notes with a partner. Look at the picture in detail together and consider the following:
- His finger is raised. How do you interpret the gesture? Is he angry, frightened, explaining ?
- His mouth is open. Is he necessarily speaking?
- Do his eyes suggest how many people are in front of him?
3 Bearing in mind all that you have decided about this young man, write down a fragment (no longer than fifteen words) of what he is saying. Try to suggest as much as possible about the total situation in these words. Each pair reads its fragment aloud; the others listen and draw conclusions from what they hear.
