Watercolour is the oldest of all paint media and it remains the most popular. Over the centuries it has been prized for its luminosity and fluidity of application, making it the ideal choice for spontaneous colour studies, particularly for capturing the transient qualities of light and colour in nature. Furthermore, it has the ability to achieve results that range from the strikingly vibrant to the subtle and delicate, making it suitable for a wide range of painting styles.
