Why a Submarine?
For a long time, sailors have envied fish because they could stay in the sea in weather that kept man on dry land. Even in good weather, fish have an advantage that has made military men envious since the beginning of time: the advantage of invisibility.
Men have tried to travel beneath the surface of the sea almost as long as they have been sailing on its surface. The result of these many years of trying and failing, of learning and beginning again, is the strange and marvelous vessel we know today as the submarine.
