FOREWORDI have thoroughly enjoyed the writing of this book and all the unusual adventures my research took me on. I'd like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the brave participants, who have willingly allowed me to ink their palms and speak openly about their characters. My curiosity prompted me to look for an outstanding common denominator between these talented people, but I was surprised by the outcome; it wasn't at all what I expected. Instead of a wealth of markings indicating charmed lives I found the most energetic influence was in fact Jupiter and Mars, the sign of drive and persistence. All these personalities have the ability to overcome any difficult phase; they have endless bounce, enthusiasm and dedication. It was amazing to find such strength in so many people. It seems to me, therefore, that it's their gifts of courage and perseverance more than mere luck which has contributed to their success.
