I will tell you why: women do not know how exceptional they are and they lack confidence. However, any woman lacking confidence should remember this: if you can figure out which one gets the last toffee, the four year old or the six year old, you can negotiate any contract in the world! Corporations as we know them have been created by men for men, often influenced by the military model. Hierarchical structures built on authority remain the same. The only way I could challenge this was to set up my own business. But here we are eighteen years later and it is still far easier for any woman to go to a bank and secure a loan for a new kitchen or fitted wardrobe, than it is to get them to agree to lend her money to start a business. There is a saying: 'where power is, women are not' but for God's sake, please remember the counter-argument to that: if you think you are powerless, you are. Women must be willing to be powerful. It is because we bear scars from the ways men have used their power over us that women often want no part of power. Another of our biggest fears that keeps us from moving ahead with our lives is our difficulty in making decisions The irony, of course, is that by not choosing our own path, we are choosing which path we follow. She Who Dares Wins helps women to develop an awareness of their own potential. Via stimulating and interesting exercises, all women can learn something practical to translate into their own lives.
