Foreword
The Budapest Nephrology School has achieved a remarkable success in training more than 1000 young physicians in the past 11 years. The faculty from several different international institutions has brought a new insight and knowledge to this school and the participants have eagerly absorbed the new findings and trends in nephrology practice and have contributed by their interactions in the discussion forums.
The title of this monograph, "Nephrology, Hypertension, Dialysis, Transplantation" very well outlines the main areas that the Budapest Nephrology School covers each year. There was an agreement that a collection of the materials taught in the previous courses would be beneficial for the young nephrologists and physicians as an easy source of reading. The faculty was asked to contribute the material on which they have recently lectured at the Budapest Nephrology School. The positive response of the faculty resulted in the compiling of the present monograph. We tried to organize the manuscripts under the main titles of this book and very little changes were considered in the original texts. This monograph is a good source for the nephrologists and young physicians who would like to have a brief review in some of the selected important issues in nephrology, hypertension, dialysis and kidney transplantation.
We are grateful for the contributions of all the faculty of the Budapest Nephrology School in the past and especially those who invested their time in helping this book to come into existence. We are also thankful to Dr. Shahrokh MirzaHosseini and Ms. Judit Liptak for their technical assistance. Our thanks is also due to the State Printing Company Ltd. for their patient and generous support of this publication.
