Mineralogical and Technological Evaluation of Bauxites [antikvár]

PREFACE The present volume reports on the recent results of the traditional co-operation between Soviet and Hungárián experts, between the research workers of YAMI and FKI. Volume II of our joint publications gives information about the lectures held on the occasion of the researchers' meeting in Leningrád between the 18th and 21st of January 1972. The development of alumina production is based upon the physical - chemical, mineralogical and teehnological evaluation of bauxites and the lectures published here give an evidence of the fact that the up-to-date, high level teehnological development must rely upon the so-called „material science", i.e. on the recognition of the most recent investigation methods and physicalchemical characteristics. Therefore, the close and organized co-operation and the regular exchange of teclmical experiences is of utmost importance. We are pleased to issue Volume II of our joint publications, it is, however, my doleful bounden duty to commemorate here Doctor of science S.I. Beneslavsky, theworld-famed geologist; one of his last works was the preparation of this meeting and the scientific editing of this publication. The present volume is alsó to raise a monument to the memory of Professor Beneslavsky. Our present volume is published in English language reflecting the intention of the leaders of both Institutes for a comprehensive diffusion of our results and to promote the information and activity of experts dealing with the evaluation of bauxité and alumina production.
