FOREWORD
ALL workers in industry, technicians and artisans ahke, realise to-day the importance of knowing as much as possible about the materials with which they work. This knowledge is not only necessary to us in obtaining a proper understanding of our job, but it is essential if any real satisfaction is to be gained from doing it. For these reasons alone the publication of a book on metallurgical materials is welcome.
Although intended primarily for engineering and metallurgical students, this book is so comprehensive in scope that it should contain much of interest to workers in a larger field, particularly to those engaged in all branches of foundry work.
