Bővebb ismertető
This issue marks an important milestone in our constructive development in that one of our affiliated Foundations has been - at long last - officially activated and launched. This Foundation is the RÁKÓCZI FOUNDATIONINTERNATIONAL (USA) and its new president is Mr. Alexander Hody (see story on page 8). Although the RÁKÓCZI FOUNDATION-INTERNATIONAL (USA) was incorporated as a non-profit organization on March 27, 1985, under the corporate laws of the State of New Jersey, we were unable to arrange for its activation until this late date because our time and effort was concentrated almost entirely upon getting our HUNGÁRIÁN HERITAGE REVIEW underway, which is still a fulltime job and then some. Needless to say, we were alsó handicapped by lack of personnel whom we could entrust with the activation, management, and development of the RÁKÓCZI FOUNDATION-INTERNATIONAL (USA) in strict accordance with the mandate granted us by the Founder and President of the RÁKÓCZI FOUNDATION (CANADA), Mr. Nicholas Korponay, with the advice and consent of his Board of Directors. But, now, this problem has been resolved and all of us concerned look forward to carrying out our "mission" through the commitment of meaningful deeds, rather than by meaningless words. These "meaningful deeds", of course, will not be in conflict with or in competition with the programs of other organizations. For, while engaged in "doing our own thing", we will be supportive of programs sponsored by other Hungárián organizations. Provided, of course, that such programs are devoted to the fosterization of our Hungárián Heritage and are not in conflict with our firm policy of remaining aloof from ideopolitical involvements of any kind. The RÁKÓCZI FOUNDATION-INTERNATIONAL (USA) is NOT a new organization in the sense that it is an outgrowth of the RÁKÓCZI FOUNDATION (CANADA) which, since its founding in 1976, has compiled an outstanding record of achievements. Mr. Hody, the new president of this recently activated counterpart of the Canadian Foundation, is determined to equal it, if not surpass it. It is said that "no man is an island to himself' and this applies to the RÁKÓCZI FOUNDATION-INTERNATIONAL (USA) as well. We cannot do it all alone. Your INPUT IS NEEDED. So, please be as generous as you can in your support of it, for its "mission" is to finally do the things that should have been done long ago, but were completely overlooked, programs designed and implemented to help assure the preservation and protection of our Hungárián Heritage for future generations.
