1 Walter Moles was late, as usual. It didn't seem to make any difference that he lived right on the same block as the Ogden Street School. Every day he was the last one in. Walter jumped off the three brick steps in front of his house, circled around the driveway into his yard, and climbed the Cyclone fence into the'alley between his house and the school. He and his friend Casey Valentine called the alley the Secret Passageway because no one else ever used it. It was just a narrow space full of weeds and the junk that blew in from the schoolyard.
