Grapevine Workbook 1B has twenty units, eachcorresponding to a unit in the Student's Book. Workbook1B relates to Units 21-40 in the Student's Book.Workbook IA is available for Units 120.The Workbooks have been designed with the followingaims in mind:1to consolidate and review the structural and functional material in the Student's Book;2to extend the lexical syllabus of the Student's Book, and to reinforce vocabulary work by recycling vocabulary items;3to extend work on reading and writing, including reading skill development;4to provide additional work on pronunciation, spelling, word order, and punctuation.They can be used in several ways. There are notes in the last section of each unit of Grapevine Teacher's Book 1 on using the Workbooks in class. We would suggest that a combination of the following uses will be appropriate in most teaching situations:1as homework, with students working alone without help from a teacher;2as additional classroom material, some of which will be suitable for paired oral work. Used in this way, the Workbooks can help to adjust the progression of the course, by extending selected units with extra classroom practice.Please note that students can be asked not to write in the Workbooks if you wish.
