The Concerto in D, published by Quido Adler in 1890 is not an early work by Beethoven, but was composed by Josef Rösler (op. 15). Op. 19 was designed in the year 1794 and was played for the first time in public by the composer himself on March 29th 1795 in Vienna. Whether Beethoven made some important alterations in the work for the second performance on December 18*h of the same year is unknown, but it is certain that he played the Concerto in Prague in 1798 (actual date missing), and later at Vienna on October 29'h of the same year, in the final form which has been handed down to us.
