Combinatorial Structures and Their Applications [antikvár]

FOREWORD This volume contains papers and problems presented at, or submitted to, the Calgary International Conference on Combinatorial Structures and their Applications, held at the University of Calgary from June 2 to 14, 1969. Of many international conferences in combinatorics held in recent years, this has probably been the largest so far, and the participants included many of the better known workers in this field. The conference was made possible by generous support from a number of institutions, including The University of Calgary. It was organized by the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computing Science of the university, the committee consisting of R.K. Guy, A.S.B. Holland, E.G. Milner, C. Nasim, N.W. Sauer, J. Schonheim, W. Vollmerhaus and representatives of the Division of Continuing Education. The program included twenty one-hour and twenty half-hour invited addresses, eighty contributed quarter-hour papers and three sessions devoted to unsolved problems. The Organizing Committee and the Editors thank the many participants whose contributions made the conference such a success, and hope that this success is reflected in this volume. The Editors
