Adrian Phillips joined the staff at Bradt Travel Guides in 2001 after completing a PhD in English literature. Two years later, he left his desk for several months to research Bradt guides to Hungary and Budapest with Jo. Hungary: The Bradt Travel Guide subsequently won the award for Best Guidebook of the Year Since then, Adrian has continued to straddle the fence between writing and publishing; a member of the British Guild of Travel Writers, he is author of several guidebooks, and writes regularly for national newspapers and magazines. He is now Editorial Director at Bradt, and in 2009 was named among the UK's top young business leaders by Who s Who - which explains a lot about the current state of the UK economy
Jo Scotchmer is a Public Relations Director who specialises in lifestyle and travel PR. After spending a significant amount of time in Hungary, she fell in love with the place, its culture and its people. Having resolved to take a career break to travel (and to learn something on the way!), she teamed up with Adrian to explore Hungary's highways and byways, and to write Bradt guides to the country.
