Bővebb ismertető
These books are dedicated to my students of 1998, who, being the first "learners", encouraged me in completing them.
PREFACE
This book is the second volume of a 3-part Biology manual that has been written for use by students of Hungarian-English secondary grammar schools or by anyone else who needs a general Biology knowledge in English. The first book, after an Introduction to biology studies the major units of living things: Viruses, Bacteria, Protists, Fungi, Animals and Plants Il also summarizes the basic things on plant life.
This second book, after an introduction to Biochemistry, studies the basic unit of life - the cell - within Cell biology, followed by Histology and Human biology. Human biologj includes the major organ systems, their functions and the most important health problems.
The last volume studies the major topics of Genetics, Evolution and Ecology.
I would like to thank those people who helped me, especially my third and fourth yeai students, my colleagues and my family.
The idea behind the production of these volumes on Biology has been to satisfy the requirements of the National Curriculum (NAT) and to consider the peculiarities of studying science in a foreign language.
In this totally revised edition, without rearranging the basic construction of the three volumes, 1 tried to follow the guidelines of the common framework of the curriculum (kerettanterv). 1 included most details asked by the final examination requirements both ai medium and advanced levels in order to provide help in preparing for the final exams ir Biology.
