1, A személynévmások és a "lenni" ige /to be/ ragozása:
I am we are
you are you are
he/she is they are
Kérdő mondatban a fenti szórendnek a forditottját használjuk:
Are you English? Az ehhez hasonló kérdésekre /eldöntendő kérdésekre/ az igen/nem /yes-no/ után általában megismételjük a megfelelő személynévmást /pl, Peter helyett "he", "I" helyett "you" és forditva/, és az igét; a többi mondatrészt elhagyjuk.
Are you English? - Yes, I am, /No, I am not.
