INTRODUCTION
When your children are bored and can't think of what to do next, it is often impossible to come up with an immediate and brilliant idea that will keep everyone happy - especially if your brain is otherwise engaged in cooking tea, making a phone call or negotiating a tricky one-way system. As busy mothers ourselves, we've often longed for a book that would give us ideas for what to play, how to play it and, most importantly, remind us how to enjoy playing it with our kids.
Inside are games we play with our children, some we used to play as children ourselves, and others that you may be familiar with but might have forgotten how to play. Treat it as you would a recipe book. Dip in and out of it when you need fresh ideas and inspiration. Some of the games are short and sweet. Others may last for days on end. There are ideas for toddlers on their own or a whole pack of pre-pubescent boys. Start your kids off with any of the games - you may find that they will grasp the idea quickly and play on their own or you may be surprised to find that you want to keep playing it yourself.
