PREFACE TO DOVER EDITION
hlk Screen Techniques is a more popular-priced edition of Silk Screen Stencilling As a 7ine Art by the same authors, previously published by the McGraw-Hill Book Company. In its present format and under its new title the book has been reduced in price to reach a wider market.
Silk Screen Techniques retains all the features of the earlier version. Some of the text has been slightly revised. The body of instructional information is exactly the same, save for several added features such as an Index and a helpful directory of dealers of materials. Many new illustrations have been added which reflect the latest and best of contemporary serigraph print making. For these both the publishers and authors are sincerely grateful to the Nafional Serigraph Society and to its director, Doris Meltzer. Thanks are also extended to the McGraw-Hill Book Company for relinquishing to me the copyright previously held by them.
Mr. Cirker, president of Dover Publications felt it wise to change the original title to Silk Screen Techniques. In this I concurred because the present tide encompasses the entire range of stencil techniques as a fine art and as a commercial printing process.
