The Persecuted Prophets [antikvár]

This exciting book deals with the mountain church people of the Appalachian region, who are known to handle deadly snakes and drink poison during their religious ceremonies. It is the true story of the Southeast's Holiness churches as told by the members, who literally interpret and base their doctrine on the five signs found in Mark 16:17-18 "And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." (Courtesy provided by keymedia)
